We were given a rocker as a shower gift. Henry especially likes to lay in it in the kitchen and watch us while we cook, and also lay in it and look out the window at the trees while we eat at the dining table. He also sleeps in it, but we constantly needed to rock him to get him to sleep, and of course, we have better things to do than rock our child to sleep! Ha ha, just kidding! Anyway, Scott went into his garage workshop one day and came out with this.

Waking up is hard to do
... That's what they say, and baby Henry agrees. Especially when it's time for a feeding, and he has been asleep for almost 3 hours.

Baby's first walk
Susannah was feeling well enough to go for a short walk, so we decided to try out one of our slings.
We had a nice walk on a sunny day, just down the road a piece and back. Baby Henry fell into a deep sleep as soon as we started walking, and didn't wake up until we took him out of his sling. Now we have another trick to pull out when he is being fussy!

Our family of 3 leaves the hospital
On March 30th, 2013, at 8:23pm, Henry William McGrath caught his first glimpse of the world. He weighed in at 9 lbs, 2 oz, and 21 inches in length. A big baby!
We were in the hospital for 36 hours, Susannah was in labor for 26 hours, and pushed for 4.5 hours. It was a long ride, but all worth it in the end!

Bursted Hot Water Line!
Susannah and I were literally minutes from heading out the door for a weekend trip (to an Inn), when this hot water feed line burst in the master bathroom!
We both heard it and thought the other was taking a shower. Susannah was the first to figure out that something was amiss, and shouted to me. I turned off the valve and the whole thing was over in under 5 minutes since the burst.
The spill was contained to the bathroom floor, and it was raining in the garage for a few. There is a drain in there, so overall there was no damage to speak of. We were VERY lucky it happened while we were still here, or we would have come home to a (much) messier house, not to mention a very hefty water/sewer and gas bill!
I was surprised to see a braided line burst in such a manner. The line existed when when we bought the house 7 years ago, so it could very well be original. Scarier is the thought that there are at least 3 other lines that are probably of the exact same model and vintage. Definitely going to change those out.

33 Weeks and On Track
Just a quick update: At 33 weeks, Susannah's most recent checkup said the baby's head is now down, and everything seems on track!
Last Monday, Susannah and I had our last of the 5 week child birthing class series. We had a great tour of the hospital and we saw one of the rooms that could very well be where the birth takes place. This Monday it's infant care, followed by breastfeeding class week 7, and then child CPR. Feels like we are in night school. But all good info.
Susannah and I have been working on coming up with some baby names that we both like.
Baby shower approaches!
Love to all.
